Lanzhou Petrochemical solves the challenge of resource recycling

On May 18, construction workers were carrying out orderly operations at the site of Lanzhou Petrochemical's new 110 tons/hour sour water stripping unit project.  

For a long time, Lanzhou Petrochemical’s existing two sour water stripping units have had to operate at 120% capacity just to barely maintain a "tense balance" in handling sour water from the refining area. Project manager Gao Yunpeng said that with increasingly stringent national environmental regulations and the implementation of new facility plans, total sour water volume is expected to exceed 370 tons per hour, making current processing capacity insufficient to support production optimization and future development.  
Once completed, the new unit will increase total sour water treatment capacity from 230 tons per hour to 340 tons per hour, completely breaking the "tense balance" dilemma. Meanwhile, the unit employs proven technology to effectively separate hydrogen sulfide and ammonia from sour water, recovering them as liquid ammonia and sulfur respectively. The purified water will be returned to atmospheric and vacuum distillation units for reuse, forming a green closed-loop system for resource recycling.
