In December 1992, at the beginning of Shanghai's reform and opening up, Mr. Wang Zhiming, the founder of Hanwei, founded Shanghai Hanwei Special Electromechanical Co., Ltd., with its registered address at No. 164, Chang'an Road, Zhabei District.

In 1997, the large-scale 24-way rotary valve was successfully localized and used in Jinling Petrochemical. Obtained ISO 9001 and API 6D certificates.

From 1997 to 1998, he successively obtained ISO9001 (Quality Management System Certificate) and API6D (American Petroleum Association Production License).

In 1999, the first set of 24-way rotary valve was exported to Iran's alkylbenzene plant.

In 2001, DN1650 (66 ") large-diameter plug valve was successfully developed (for Cabot).

In 2001, the development of a full range of petroleum and natural gas pipeline ball valves (API6D) was successful. API6D ball valves were first applied to the West-East Gas Pipeline and exported to the Middle East and European markets.

In November 2003, with the expansion of business, the company bought 30 mu of land in the Pudong New Area and registered its name as "Shanghai Pudong Hanwei Valve Co., Ltd." in the Pudong New Area.

In 2003, the all-welded closed ball valve was exported to Europe for the first time (Sweden RABA Company).

In 2008, it obtained the license of Shell (China Shell) and Italian Saipem suppliers.

In 2008, DN800 and large-diameter API6D ball valves were exported to Central Asia (Kazakhstan) in bulk for the first time. The trial production of spherical all-welded pipeline ball valves was successful, and was awarded the gold medal product of all-welded ball valves by the Valve Association.

In 2011, Hanway won the finalist of the Shanghai Quality Gold Award.

In 2012, RV III-1300 12-way rotary valve was successfully developed. It is used in Yangzi Petrochemical.

In 2013, a major breakthrough was made in the upstream platform of CNOOC, providing high-end valves such as 8-inch 2500LB DBB ball valve, the first domestic underwater valve, and the first domestic 12-inch 2500LB dual-phase steel ball valve.

In 2013, Hanwei successfully developed 24-inch 300-pound stainless steel ball valve and 18-inch 150-pound titanium valve. The successful design and manufacture of these two products marks that Hanwei has entered the pioneer team of the PTA plant special valve manufacturing industry.

On August 15, 2016, Hanwei Company completed all the work of the localization of the underwater ball valve of CNOOC Wenchang Project through one year of preparation and four months of design review, modification, procurement, manufacturing, inspection and test. It also successfully obtained the API 6DSS certificate issued by the American API Association before the completion of the task. This is also the second enterprise in China to obtain this certification, which lays a strong foundation for the smooth passing of the project.
