Gate valve
The stem of the gate valve uses linear motion to open and close the valve. These valves use parallel or wedge discs as seals to achieve a tight seal.

Scope of use:
It can be used to deal with oil, natural gas, air, heavy liquids, steam, non-condensing gases, friction and corrosive liquids.
Advantages:
Large capacity
Tight closure
Low cost
Low flow resistance.
Disadvantages:
Poor control
Cavitation occurs when low pressure falls.
Not applicable to reduced traffic
The closing element of the gate valve is a replaceable disc. To open the valve, remove the disc completely from the stream with little to no resistance. As a result, the pressure drop on the open gate valve is small. The contact surface between the disc and the seal ring is 360°, so the fully closed gate valve provides good seal. Proper fitting of the valve plate to the seal ring ensures little or no leakage from the valve plate when the gate valve is closed.
